It doesn’t have to be certified, but you need to think of pockets to put energy bars, water, carry gloves and glasses and a satellite phone. That’s why I’m choosing an outfit where I can pack everything I need with extra pockets and storage.

Of course, at high speeds the whole focus is on tracking the track, but you always have to keep one eye on the road book too if you don’t want to get lost, and it’s not so easy because the road book is shaking a lot, it is difficult to see signs, degrees, for perfect navigation. By comparison, you only do one job in the car, either driving or guiding.

In Dakar Peru, and this year Dakar technical support will be provided by the same Polish team, Duust, with mechanics from all around the world. My motorcycle was serviced by a mechanic from Spain who will be serving Honda factory motorcycles this year.

In Peru, during Dakar I had to sleep in tents, both at the hotel and at the campsite. We woke up around 4a.m. in the morning. In Dakar Saudi Arabia, I will sleep in a tent during the rally. I will sleep in the hotel before the rally, during the free day and after the Dakar Rally. The start times are not clear, but I guess it will be similar time to get up.

It is necessary to have some skills to ride the dunes, but even amateurs or beginners can learn and they will be able to ride them from the first time, all they need is a good trainer ???? This year we have proved this in Dubai with group riding for the first time in the dunes.

There are no giant dunes like the Peruvian desert in the Arabian desert, but they have there dunes of different viscosity, size and color. I did train in the light yellow, almost white dunes – the softest, the yellow dunes are medium viscosity, the red – the least viscous, harder dunes.

I like sandy trails the most. Also, navigate in the true wilderness, overcoming the tallest and most difficult dunes.

The motorcycle suspension is developed and prepared by Pro Racing Engineering in Utena according to my driving technique, and the same specialists also prepare shock absorbers for both the Dakar Rally Motorcycle and the Enduro.

I plan to participate in Lithuanian Cross Country Championship, Baltic and Lithuanian Enduro Championships. Several rounds of the World Cup and European Enduro, one of the Global rally stages as well as the Baja rally stages.
